Fiddle faddle. I have a question.

....lol ..ears 👂

Do you know of any scriptures that talk about dogs?

🤣 yeah... of barbaric nature.. yes

I’m asking on behalf of someone who will be losing a dog soon.

You have a friend with a dog soon passing from him? You should introduce him to SCIENCE AND HEALTH and have him read the wonderful testimonials, probably even, well not in that Book but other testimonials from Christian Scientists, where they had a dog fully recover from whatever, even claimed old age.

I will tell them.

Good boy Anubis. Sit. Play dead.

He only sits on coffins. So he says he'll catch you later.

I’ve read and studied the entire Bible over a 6 year period.

As for translations of the old testament, good to know

King James and American Standard Version. Also looked at some Greek renderings from the Dead Sea scrolls. I’d say linguistically, historically and theologically — in that order.

Not exactly scripture but many people have found comfort in the Rainbow Bridge.

I've read the KJV, the NIV, the Book of Mormon, bits and pieces of other translations such as the Good News, Moffet, and others. I started reading the Bhagavad Gita and the Koran but I must have lost them in a move because I can't find them anymore. Of course, while reading all these I've also read various other texts on the basis and history of religion as well as commentaries and opinions.

It may not be my faith but some of the best people I have ever known were Christians who walked the true path.

That's nice.

But is there a sufficient sample of people from other faiths? It may just be that most folks you know are Christians.

Also niceness in normal times can be deceiving. My hope in humanity is renewed when during times of racial or religious violence, people protect and hide total strangers of other faiths.

Not that I hope for such situations nor am I saying Christians are not nice.

It's great to expose oneself to non Abrahamic ideas as well. That text however may be a little preachy and heavy. Good to start with the contextual literature of the Mahabharata first. The Gita comes from a certain moment in that story.

Of course please remember I'm just the resident village fool with unsolicited advice. Kids, do not do this at home.

There's probably a good sample of other religions and cultures. I lived in the Boston and Washington D.C areas for years. I've also participated in a few multi-cultural social sites. In my experience (your results may vary) people are people the world over. They just want to live in peace and safety with family and friends. There's just all the stuff that gets between us.

The absolute best man I ever knew.. aw heck, I'm trying to loosen up so here goes. Ray was my mentor in Massachusetts at my first job after college. My employee ID was over 60,000. Ray's was three digits. He had a paper punch that was older than I was. It amused us both. I have never met anyone who walked their faith any truer or who was more honest and unbiased in any way that I saw. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/pilotonline/name/rayfield-randolph-obituary?id=12910059

Thank you for sharing. False pretense in my opinion is one of the greatest evils in the world. An honest and good person is truly rare and I'm glad you've met such a person.

That's probably why I have had so few close friends. My best friend now is such a person. They're a liberal atheist but I don't hold that against them.

Avatar of WTFrickenA

I'm against no atheist but, rather hope the best for their sakes to realize for themselves the correct equation regarding The Infinite Omnipresent Unconditional Loving Good God.

I would say I’m 75 percent Christian and 25 percent atheist

You see, there's the problem. I have already realized the correct equation and it isn't what you're selling.
