Y2K was quite difficult to survive. And when the Muslims tried to "take our freedoms", that too was difficult. The O.J. verdict was tough to live through. The 2008 controlled economic demolition, where we were all surely going to be under martial law if Bernake, and Paulsen didn't get a bail-out for all the bonuses that had to be paid. That was a scare.
Hale-Bop(?), the comet that was actually a 'soul-transporter'. Much trepidation there. Global warming, which I combat through freezing in my apartment on a daily basis. The "govenators-scare", where people elected body-builders and fake wrestlers to govern states. It was the only time I had to get in shape for a protest.
The Pheonix Lights, where a gigantic alien craft was making contact in the most audacious manner. Thank goodness it was just flares. Gay-marriage, perhaps the most important issue in the history of mankind, decided to not end the world. Thank goodness people marched on the streets in droves, for that utterly important issue.
Drugs were definitely going to end the world, until a war was declared, and the CIA got involved to combat it. People questioning the government was sure to end the world, but thanks to the most responsibly-used invention known to man-television- we now know those people are just crazy, conspiracy theorists.
But surviving Oprah, for me, is what I am most proud of
With 12/21/12 approaching, it got me thinking... how many other doomsdays have I survived? Letting logic take over either:
1. I'm invinsible
2. All life did die and this is my afterlife (ewww)
3. It was all mumbo jumbo
4. all and or none of the above
What has been your favorite doomsday that you survived? I liked Y2K. Good hype. Except I had to work 12/31/99 because corporate required it in case something really did happen. Like I was going to save the worlds power grid or something.
