What are your favourites?

I'm also from the UK. I like the flags of Scotland, Kazakhstan, Iceland, Lebanon, Japan and Canada a lot for some reason.

I'm interested in why you like the Scottish and Icelandic flags. The others are all very different to the standard.

a) I like what the Scottish flag represents, it's a cross of clouds in the sky (also I'm Scottish so I'm obliged to like it haha)

b) I don't know why I like the Icelandic flag but I like how it's the inverse of the Norwegian one

Cool!

Oh wow, I never realised that about the Icelandic and Norwegian flags. That's fascinating, thanks for sharing that :)

They look so good together! Funny that Iceland and Denmark are more closely connected but their flags don't resemble each other much.

Avatar of TheOtherAlysCooper

I wonder if the flags have a connection with Norway's Viking history as at a time Iceland and Greenland were part of the Kingdom of Norway.

Avatar of Your_Local_Chicken

That's a good point actually. Don't mess with the Vikings!

Avatar of TheOtherAlysCooper

I wouldn't dream of doing so, hehe

Have you ever visited Scandinavia?

Avatar of TheOtherAlysCooper

I haven't. I would love to though. I like the cold. I'm in Yorkshire and the summers are too hot for me lol. Need to move to John Ogroats haha

Avatar of TheOtherAlysCooper

Have you?

Avatar of Your_Local_Chicken

Yes! I've been to Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Down here in London it gets super hot so it was the only escape!

Avatar of TheOtherAlysCooper

I was at uni in London and it was unbearable come summer time

Avatar of Your_Local_Chicken

We really need to challenge the stereotype that Britain (London particularly) is rainy all the time!

Avatar of TheOtherAlysCooper

I grew up with that stereotypical rain. Originally from the Lancashire and it rains so much there. Yorkshire, way less rain :D

Avatar of Your_Local_Chicken

Awesome! London is dryyyyy. Never ever rains - sometimes it gets so dry down here we get banned from using garden hoses in the summer to save water

You'll have to move back to Scotland. Because of the weather, not because you need to "get out of my country" lol
