Kevin, I'm surprised at you! Going down a staircase, the gentleman always goes first. Why are you teaching that young man wrong manners? The idea is that, should the lady fall, the gentleman would be sure to catch her. Now, going UP the stairs, it's a different matter -- then he should let the lady go first.
But why should he be following me anyway?
