in the mid-90's i turned 30 and had kids with my girlfriend. we lived in notting hill, and i was studying philosophy at UCL. i did some jungle and drum & bass hanging out with other students, but not that much because of parental duties. Trip hop used to be very big here in Bristol as well, what with Massive Attack, Tricky, Portishead, Baby Fox etc etc.
I'm french and I can confirm that some words have sense:
Wands are called "baguettes" because they looks like baguettes
The verb "pass" is '
"passer"
