Global Cooling - The real danger to mankind

lol, I find it hilarious how I just see guys talking about 95-degree hot days and think you're living in hell or something, completely forgetting you use farenheight.

it gets to like 110 out here sometimes

Basically it's much easier to deal with heat than cold. In the summer, at least here (maybe not Texas), the temp drops back to semi-normal at night. But in the winter, warming up to 25 from 15 during the day doesn't help.

Think of it this way, the coldest temp on this planet ever recorded was around -130 F. The hottest temp was around +135F. That means the center of this scale is 0 F which is extremely cold.

Most humans prefer a temp of 60-75. The hottest it gets in most populated areas is 25-30 above that. The coldest it gets is often over 100 degrees below that. The cold side is far more extreme than even admittedly some of the most uncomfortable heat.

This supposedly "class M" planet has entire continents of ice, that's not normal.

some of us who live in a literal oven would prefer to have the earth cool down

interesting. Let’s start global warming if the real problem is global cooling grin

People don't have to live in those states, they shouldn't for a million other reasons anyway. Another reason my favorite state is California, San Diego has the perfect ideal weather. Some say you can go year round without touching your AC or heating system. NY is arctic in the winter for 5+ months and then unbearably humid in the summer. Spring is almost non-existent at this point, but the cold is still far more uncomfortable than the occasional heat wave.

it’s not that bad till you get with the 99.9% humidity. then it’s bad

Well it's part of the reason I love doordashing for a living, even on bad days where I don't end up making a good hourly rate (we get paid per offer not per hour so it's different every day), I at least have the comfort of knowing I contributed my fair share of inert greenhouse gas emissions to the atmosphere with all that local driving/idling. I could never work for Amazon for example, driving those electric vans all day, much more depressing. I mean think of all the stray kittens violently shivering/freezing to death in the 5 month long winters in the NorthEast. And I only drive 20-25k miles a year which is probably below average, so am not even "more of the problem" even by climater standards lol.

Cold kills 20x more than heat.

I'd still pick the Florida Everglades on a bright blue sunny sky day than a winter here in NYC.

That’s all i need to start global warming.

i want to move to japan.

And to be clear I fully agree with trying to remove toxic gases from the air, like Methane/CO/NO..as well as clean water/common sense environmental regulation etc, but harmless greenhouse gasses floating around up in the stratosphere are fine. We can develop better AC tech to cool down buildings and cars in Arizona/Texas/Florida..etc, but winters in the Northern US even make just walking to your car on a windy day painful. It just sucks the life right out of you.
