Global warming - an urgent problem requiring radical solution (no politics or religion)

The sky is falling! the sky is falling! quick - raise everyone's taxes and redistribute the wealth so we can stop this, for the children of course. And if you don't agree you're a stupid dummy.

Is there some relevance to this topic in the posts made recently? Is the idea that global warming is ok because everyone can move to Antarctica?

What the hell more could be said on this topic that hasn't already been said 400 times over and over in this other on going thread?

It's very important to keep moving in circles on this exciting topic.

On second thought -- "BFD" seems about right.

Or even make some kind of Global Warming fourm game.

AGW seems largely a whack-a-mole kind of discussion.  It appeals to both the masses and elites.

Everyone likes that game, indeed.

In addition, people who present the scientific facts are not blocked on religio-political grounds in this thread.

The thread has been piling up the same arguments for the last 14 months, and I don't think anybody on there was blocked because the OP bailed on the thread long before it caught fire.

Actually several people were. To be fair though, pawnkeeper is a denizen of Open Discussion where he blocked several people, and it is difficult to distinguish the specific reasons.

Find it hard to fathom that anyone can deny global warming exists, and that it is a continuously growing serious problem!

Hessian is presumably presenting the conspiracy theory that after faking the moon landings and hiding Elvis from view, the Illuminati has been organising a massive campaign of falsifying experimental results and supercomputer program runs in collusion with a wide variety of governments throughout the world so as to fool people the world is getting warmer, that CO2 levels have risen by 38% since the end of the 19th Century and that the two are connected because of the infra-red absorption spectrum of CO2 (presumably the spectroscopic data has been faked as well).

Of course, the fact that there is no planet on which this makes the slightest sense is proof that alien invaders are behind the whole charade.

I can conclude that your ability to discern fact from fiction is inferior.

Unless you did not mean your statement literally, you are proposing a ridiculous conspiracy theory that is contradicted by more than adequate proof. But if you like the social circles of people who think like that, go have fun in them.
