Your right 1700 chess is goofy but they aren't bad! Once you figure out how to play positionally In the opening you will be around 2000(make 2000 hang pieces in 15 or less moves).you will understand what I mean when you get there don't focus on openings but get really good at punishing your opponent mistakes/forcing mistakes on them basically get good with tempi =2000+

that's a fair opinion to have, but there are quite a lot of people who play rapid above 1600 including myself. I'm fairly certain all online ratings are inflated compared to OTB, but as far as I'm aware there is no major difference between time controls.

Blitz ratings are less inflated and more accurate compared to classical otb (real chess strength) than rapid for people above 800 rapid.

Do you have a source for this?

Not true lol you just don't realize the difference till you get there

Usually a 1600 can't tell the difference between 1800-2000 and 1400 can't tell the difference between 1600-1800 the difference between 1900-2000 is 1900 openings are terrible and they loss too much space 2000s don't loss too much space positionally but they can still hang peices or close off position if they get tunnel vision(aka blunder attacks)

Online rapid is inflated but blitz isn't nearly as inflated(it's actually deflating)

For one, it's quite evident that online blitz ratings are closer to otb classical than rapid, just by observation. Second, in rapid chess, people get to play very accurate games and have much higher rapid ratings. In Blitz games, there is more "diversity". Blitz chess tests much of your board vision, time management and thinking skills.

Blitz pools are much stronger than rapid pools.

You get so much time in rapid, but struggle in blitz. Hence, you are 1500 blitz and 1900 rapid. Blitz is more challenging under 2000.

(That's not a source)

In my opinion, being able to play more accurately shouldn't make a difference as your opponent gets to do the same. It's true that time is more often a relevant factor in blitz, though I would like to note that it's also relevant in rapid, just less often. Rapid should test everything you noted equally, there is just more time to calculate moves.

I see no real evidence blitz pools are stronger than rapid pools

Yeah I struggle in terms of blitz rating, but mainly because I'm used to playing rapid and I tend to play rapid much more seriously than blitz. Blitz is more something I play during a break when idrc about the quality of the game

People play better when there relaxed the main reason the blitz pool is stronger is not because of ratings but because top gms play blitz more than classical or rapid

At last online they usually only do it in fida or ucsf sanctioned events so they don't gain much elo online from it the main reason the blitz pool is stronger is because there are more competitive players playing in it than in rapid expacialy since 10|0 isnt really rapid at all

Nope... They understand positional play better to

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

I actually play against different levels 1500,1600,1800,2100etc consistently so I know this there is 100% a difference it's how hey think part of it is board vision that's one of the most important things but it is also calculation (unless they barely play and are 1600 this doesn't imply to them)

There is a HUGE difference in opening(more accuratly positional ) understanding like within the first 5-10 moves most 1500-2000 are lost against me unless it depends though if they are 2100+ rapid they are prob more accurately around 2000 blitz strength but if they don't have the speed it doesn't matter

Around 1900 is where usually is where people start studying "seriously " and once they get to 2000 they understand openings alot better

Yay guys I’m 1540 Blitz again !!!!
Avatar of BigChessplayer665

Nah the key to winning is actually winning no skill required unless you lose then it's a skill issue

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

Nah tilt recovery always useful I always gain elo after tilt

What you do is you play until you win one game(if your tilting) then quit

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

She increased over 100+ elo in two months I think she knows what she's doing lol if she wants to tilt let her tilt will help in future

Lol

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

She's actually doing what I did to get to 2200 it's one of the harder ways to play but also more helpful

Avatar of BigChessplayer665

True it depends on the person I think as long as she's careful with tilt she will be ok tilting against 1600s was death for me though when I was 1500

Because you can't get over business that happened months ago and keep mentioning stuff?

sending your friends to spam a person because you have a problem with them is NOT the way to answer the problem you have

Fine. But... "you can't get over business that happened months ago and keep mentioning stuff?"

that's your problem with the user. you don't need to tell your friends to send him spam
