Poseidon created horses but is he the God of them? Not sure...I think he was trying to impress Demetrius or her father or something like that. I also have never heard of Poseidon as ruler of earthquakes but his trident will shake the earth so maybe that is where that came from.
Poseidon is second in power only to Zeus also.

such an amazing pantheon , greek mythology is an excellent thing , the deity I would choose ,,,, Athena ,goddess of wisdom , but my fave would be Medusa , such beauty , and a sad curse she got
