My first firearm was a Model 500B that my father gave me over fifty years ago. I still have it and it's in better shape than the one pictured here. I've never been very good with shotguns. About the time I had enough experience to become good I outgrew most of them. It seems to me that shotguns must fit the shooter better than rifles. I'm 6'6" with the arms of an orangutan which makes it difficult to find anything that fits, be it clothes, cars, furniture, etc.
My mother gave me my only other shotgun about twenty years ago when she decided she didn't want to store it any longer. It's also a Mossberg. A Model 143 bolt action .410 bore. I fired it a few times years and years (and years) ago. This is not mine but is the same model.
