I just saw it today and it was bloody brilliant! I have had the 7th book pre-ordered for over a month already! Did anyone else go see the movie???

Yeah, it was definitely better than the last movie but I wasn't blown away.  They take way too many liberties with the movies now.  I don't know, if you haven't read the book then I'm sure the movie will be a lot better for you.  I was more than disappointed not to see Sirius' mother screaming at everyone who entered the house.  Plus the chick who plays Hermoine needs a few more acting lessons and the guy who plays Dumbledor has a real problem with being commanding without yelling at everyone.  The acting was far far worse in the last movie though.  Which sucks because the 4th book is my favorite.  I'm waiting next to my door for the UPS guy to drop off my copy of book 7. :D

Btw, they did a really good job with creating the Ministry of Magic for the screen.  It's a little darker than I pictured from the book but it was still cool to see it.

Right on the money! The book was extremely better.

The Ministry did look awesome. I can't wait to pick up my book on the 22nd.

Oh another thing that bothered me about the movie was that they didn't show anything about Percy going against the family and taking up with Fudge.  I mean, they showed him at one point of the film obviously with Fudge but they really make no mention of that issue.  Plus, one of the major themes of The Order of the Pheonix (IMO) was that of sacrifice and family, niether of which they really touched on in the movie.  Nore did they even show Mrs. Weasley's family clock which shows where, and in what condition, all of her family members are.  The fact that they made Cho the person who ratted out the D.A. was just dumb IMO.

*sigh* Harry Potter is not everything people say. Yes it is a very good series but its not a GREAT series. Book 1 is good, Book 2 is almost as good, book 3 is better, book 4 is very good, 5 was a little worse than 4(I prefer books about 150-200 pages less, although I read it in 7 hours), and 6 was a little worse than 5(There was just a gap in the middle that was devoid of book 4s enthusiasm)

Eragon isn't a very good series either. I dunno its just something about Christopher's writing style, besides the fact that it is StarWars fan fiction. The story is very good, but not how it is written.

I don't think people read Harry Potter because it's literary genius.  I know I don't.  It's a young adults book series in the first place.  I think the series in very original and it has great mythology.  It's not the most indepth but it is smart and original, which beats out most other fantasy books who just seem to create mythology because that's supposed to be what good fantasy authors do.  I guess my point is that if you read J.K. Rowling expecting Hemingway or Steinbeck you'll be disappointed, mainly because it's a young adults book.

The book has some kind of magic to it or something because me and everyone I know who has read it is drawn to it somehow. We all say that Rowling is a witch and put some spell on the book lol.  When I ( and my friends) read it we can not put it down. The book is something different within something known and it is extremely easy and fun to read. I love the books!

The books are awesome!

However in the order of the phoenix, and actually all the films check out Hermoine 's eyebrows when she talks - once u've noticed, they will annoy you forever!!!!

the magic that drwas people to it, is popularity. Today I make a prediction...

HARRY POTTER'S SCAR IS A HORCRUX!!!!

Avatar of Indemnity

Bah!  That doesn't make sense!  I'm hope you are wrong just because I don't want to have to read how Rowling explains that.  I was watching the world hotdog eating championship on ESPN on the 4th and one of the contestants walked up with a sign that said, "On the seventh day God created <his home town>." and halfway up the walkway to his seat he turned it around ---------------------possible, but not likely, spoiler ahead--------------------------

and it said, "Hermoine dies".  I'm sure it's not true but I was mad for about ten seconds.  lol then I thought it was hilarious.

panda's theory i agree with 100% but i also say that dumbledor had a horcrux hidden away so snape didnt really kill him.It was all a setup snape was told to kill him to make it look as if dumbledors dead.SNAPE IS NOT A TRAITOR.Ohh also sirius is not dead.Malfoy is good....and also... '

THIS IS ALL A GUESS

ya i saw it in imax-3D and it was super cool but i have to say they left out a LOT of parts. they didnt even MENTION the part where marita ratted them out and they made it look like cho did it.they didnt say anything about percy leaving or even mrs.black screaming, (this is from the book people) "Stains of dishonor, filthy half-breeds, blood traitors, children of filth...". and you know i always wanted to hear the sorting hats songs but they NEVER put them in the films. they also didnt do te scene when dumbledore explains the whole thing to harry and harry goes mental. and wasnt it a bit wierd the way sirius died? i mean he just shot up into the air. oh well i guess they cant do everything in the movie or else it'll end up being ten hours long (though i wouldnt really mind that much).

Frankly, I thought that the fifth Harry Potter movie was a complete disaster for those that have not read the book series. And yes, there are people, believe it or not Wink, that have never touched the books.  Huge chunks of the novel were taken out from the movie and I can't blame them due to the sheer size of the fifth book.   However,  after watching the movie, I didn't think the viewer would have the remotest clue of the significance of the "Order of the Phoenix". It certainly didn't help that the sequence of events came in chunks that viewers can scarcely follow.  For an avid reader of the HP series, the movie certainly did justice to perhaps the weakest book of the series.

It will be interesting to see how the sixth movie turn out seeing that the novel was basically a recount of how Voldemort came to be.  Seventh movie however should be a dandy Wink
