i’m 500, and still going lower, my black plays are solid, but i suck more at white, is there any openings you suggest i learn?
I think the London or Vienna are both solid for beginners. I started playing Caro and Dutch at 800 which got me to about 1200 pretty easily.

Just do e4,e5 and don’t blunder, that’s how you will increase rating, you don’t need openings until much later

I think everyone needs to understand and have a good opening base. What good are endgame or even middlegame skills if people are getting lost in the opening due to traps(like the scholar's mate) or other crazy shenanigans. Openings provide stability. They also allow people to learn and get experience in middlegames that will arise from a certain opening.
