Hi everyone ! 👋 …..just wondering how many of you , are managing with the rising cost of energy ! 🙀

I must be honest, I am benefitting. I use a top up pre-payment meter and am receiving £400 over 6 months from the UK government which I don't have to pay back. This equates to £66 and a bit per month and I have just received the 3rd of these monthly gifts. Prior to the increase in prices and receiving this I would put maybe £45 per month on my meter. Now I have something like £120 credit on my meter and i probably will not have to pay for electricity out of my own pocket until at least May 2023, so i'm effectively getting it for free for at least 8 months. I don't get it...I don't think that I need it and I am pretty sure I'm not in 'fuel poverty' (I earn an average wage, £27k per year). The whole narrative in this country is bizarre to me at the moment, as though millions of people are struggling to eat and stay warm despite bringing home £20k-£30k per year. It's weird.
