I wonder why the moderator had to edit it out. Must have been some really weird stuff.

Homework helps to reinforce classroom learning, while developing good study habits and life skills. Students typically retain only 50% of the information teachers provide in class, and they need to apply that information in order to truly learn it.

It will never help us in life

Here’s a thought. People who put in the effort in homework and understand the ideas taught understand that this will help you in life. Sure you won’t need complex mathematics when working in a fast food job, but for those shooting for a good paying job like being a doctor or construction worker or even a soldier, you need to calculate and understand principles of angles and data coordination. But if you want to have a job that is bare minimum like a fast food worker, good for you, however if you want to find ways to afford an apartment or even better, get a large house, maybe try to work harder on that math or reading homework. But consider these as just suggestions.

I will say that many schools may not follow a flexible work schedule, and that’s understandable, my sixth grade teacher used to just feed me assignment after assignment expecting me to keep up. Truth is, I never managed to. But thankfully in my middle school years, I got a good work schedule and though I can be lazy every once in awhile, I got career classes I wanted to do. But not everyone is fortunate enough to get this. You are probably one of those people. But what I would recommend but not tell you is this. At least try. Try your best, and if it doesn’t work, then at least you come out of that year knowing you tried everything you could, and it still failed. And better yet, you’ll have a better position to argue if your “helpful” teacher says no. You’ll have solid, bonafide proof.
