if you want it is a love song about how if you, presumably being the listener, want the narrator, you just have to love him back. the production isn't anything special, it gives off the slow love song vibes from the 90s you would expect from a rick astley song for example. i'm a fan of the singing, it's in the style of something like the trammps (this is a good thing). all in all, a 6. i'll listen to everything else when i have the time
you are is quite similar to if you want it, with the trammps style vocals and the 80s/90s love song lyrics/instrumentals. makes me wonder if they had a company write all their songs written by a company like rick astley. both niteflyte songs are now 5s
undertale and deltarune ost
fortunately i already listened to both if i remember correctly, so i can save some time listening to it
there aren't many people out there who don't praise the osts as masterpieces, although when looking solely at the music it's nothing more than a chiptune album with a few out of place tracks and more repetition than a dragonforce album. but when it comes to art, the context surrounding the piece can unlock new meanings of the piece. there isn't a better example of this than the undertale and deltarune osts, where toby fox uses the music to add to the story in significant ways. here's a key example: in undertale, there is a soundtrack made for the mysterious character w. d. gaster. you listen to it by accessing a secret audio test room and scrolling all the way to the right, then once you start listening to it you can't listen to anything else, and when it ends the game crashes. the song itself is simply 4 repeating notes occasionally going through key changes, but all 4 notes are present in most tracks as a background melody. this has huge implications for just how widespread gaster's presence is, going far and beyond him and any particular area, extending to possibly the whole game. and this is only 1 example. another key example is flowey's theme. in the game, flowey is a talking flower. to prevent spoilers, i'll refrain from explaining. but his theme's leitmotif is also in a bunch of places where you wouldn't expect it to be, having implications for how big an impact he has on the story, even though he's a key part of every ending of the game already. the way toby fox uses music to further expand on how he tells his stories should be noted by every music composer for any soundtrack. easy 10
the deltarune ost gets practically the same comments from me so another easy 10
