Humankind Water - VOTE to Save Dying Children

If you live long enough, you'll eventually see Dow Chemical Corporation running a campaign to save children...
Umm... how does this relate to Humankind Water? Humankind Water is for a good cause - Saving lives! I would expect that to be something you would be in favor of trysts ;)

Oh, I see your point. Unfortunately, Walmart isn't running this contest to save lives (wouldn't it be great if they were?). Nevertheless, Humankind Water has decided to enter the contest and use the "winnings" to make a positive difference... instead of adding money to their own wallets. HkW and Walmart are not associated in any way business-wise.

Then I am sure that an embargo on Israel would be a good idea considering the fact that Palestinians get one-fifth, or less, of the fresh water supply in that region.

I am not knowledgeable about that issue... but by voting in this contest we will be able to make a difference right now :) Trysts, will you vote to give dying people clean water to drink?

If Walmart makes money out of this campaign, then I protest it. There are too many NGOs, websites and charities for raising money for children in need, long before Walmart figured out a way to make a profit from our sympathy.

Umm... did you even look at HkW's website? Walmart is NOT involved with HkW's mission in any way. Walmart is just the one in charge of the contest. Now, someone is going to win that contest anyway (and Walmart will make money regardless), so... why wouldn't you want a non-profit to win??? Why not let the money go to a good cause?
You seem a bit blinded by the fact that Walmart is involved, causing you to boycott a wonderful way to do good in this World. It's sad when someone won't help save 1,000's of people just because of a name involved with the contest... especially when voting won't even cost them anything :/

While at a youth conference (where I heard about Humankind Water's mission) I bought one of their water bottles for $1. I just thought that I would share what was printed on the back of the bottle:
"Healing Water.
Relax. We make no grandiose claims about this water having miraculous properties. Surely you'd buy it if it did. But what if by purchasing this water you could help heal others? You can.
Humankind (tm) Water gives 100% of the net profits to provide life-giving water for those literally dying for a clean drink. 10,000 children die every day from merely drinking contaminated water. That's outrageous.
Humankind (tm) Water. Refreshing for you. Life saving for them."
Even better yet, the bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic. Pretty nice, huh? :)

Well if we all could have fresh water, that would probably show that the earth is in good shape! Just do what you can do to help others and someday it will end up helping everyone else.

That's right! If you help improve your world today, then you'll make the world better for yourself and others tomorrow :)

Bottled water is stupid.
Even if you don't agree with using bottled water, this is an awesome opportunity for you to go and make a difference! After all, you don't have to buy the water yourself ;) But as long as people are going to buy water anyway, why not let one of the options be supporting a charity group?

WHOOHOO!!! Humankind Water is in Walmart's Finals! (aka they were in the top ten of voted products) Now they will be competing from April 11th til the 24th. Everyone gets a total of 28 votes they can cast in that span (all vote totals start at 0). I will post a new forum about this closer to the date. Still, thank you everyone who voted! :)

Ok, I'm a little late in reporting this (AP exams will do that...), but the news is well worth the wait :)
HUMANKIND WATER WON 1ST PLACE!!! :D
Thank you so much everyone who voted! You can expect to find HumanKind Water on Walmart's shelves sometime later this year. Together we have made a tremendous difference and have saved 1,000's of lives... but don't just stop here. Find something else you can do and DO IT! :)
Thanks again!

This is how many children die every day just because they don't have access to clean drinking water. Some call this the biggest physical problem today...
5 Minutes
This is how much time it would take each day for you to help save 1,000's of lives.
How???
I'm glad you asked! Walmart is running a nationwide contest where consumers vote to determine which of over 4,000 products will be placed on Walmart's shelves. "Humankind Water" is a product in this competition, but unlike the other products "Humankind Water" isn't in this for a profit. All of HkW's net-profits are donated to helping dig wells, providing water filters, and other ways to help end thirst-related deaths.
Here's where you come into the picture (and your 5 minutes of time). HkW needs our votes in order to win! You can vote via texting, facebook, and a bunch of other easy ways! Easy, right? Better yet, you can vote 2 times each day! HkW is aiming for 1 million votes so they need all the help they can get. If you vote every day, and even get your friends involved, you can help HkW win and ultimately save 1,000's of lives! Not a bad way to spend those 5 minutes, eh?
So, to start voting and saving lives you can:
A) Go to http://humankindwater.org/ where you can vote and learn more about Humankind Water and their mission
B) Text HKW to #50500. This will not vote, but it will tell you how to vote and will remind you daily to vote.
C) Facebook, facebook, facebook... need I say more? ;) Go and like them!
D) TELL OTHERS!!! The more the merrier. Walmart's rules allow this :) In fact, they encourage this!
So, now that you know about this cause, why wouldn't you put aside 5 minutes each day to make a difference??? It's quick, easy, and for a very good cause! Please, help save lives and put "Humankind Water" on the shelves!
