I hate all of those goshd--n GOOFY Avatars !

Thanks for the info AndyClifton, if I ever get to be tech-savy I will be able to try something new. Meanwhile I will carry on with my valuable little pawn, I just love it when I can get over to the other side of the board and trade a Pawn in to get a new Queen. Those Pawns are worth their weight in Gold !!!

Well I've come to realize that part of the problem here is my poor memory for names, thus I use familiar avatars to remember who is who. But as some people change their avatars quite often it confuses people. Maybe we need two avatars by each name, the before avatar and the after avatar  lol.

I have stuck with the cat for a long time. Before that, I actually had a picture of myself (but I was wearing a replica Hoplite helmet and shield, so nobody would recognize me anyway).

Thanks for the post Ivandh, I still like my idea of the before and after avatars. Keep things simple for those of us that get confused easily.

Thanks for the posts. We learn something new every day, I was wondering where those sneaky Leprechauns kept their gold hidden  lol.

As time goes by and I get a chance to see more and more avatars I do see quite a variety and perhaps one could say that a person's avatar is a guide to their personality ? I did see a real cute avatar the other day that is now one of my favourites. Someone has a black and white portrait photo ( from above the shoulders ) of Deputy Barney Fife, complete with his peaked cap. Ahh, those good old days of Sheriff Andy Taylor and the gang.    

Well, if an avatar is a guide to their personality, cabadenwurt, how come you don't get yourself a real pic? 

Well there could be several reason for keeping the original Pawn. I might be a very shy person who want to keep hiding. Or I might be a rather mean and nasty person, there are a lot of possibilities.

Or maybe you just haven't figured out how to add a pic. 

I think everybody should have a real photo of themselves as an avatar.

I see that someone has Papa Smurf as an avatar. That reminds me of a very important question: Why are Smurfs blue ? 

Because they are frequently depressed.

Well if my info is correct then the fellow using the Papa Smurf avatar has gotten the heave-ho and is gone now. So he might be even more depessed now ( perhaps a deeper shade of blue ? ).

I think so, there were a couple of people using Smurfs and one of them got the boot. I'm not too good with names tho.
