If 1 is the most important number, and 0 is the 2nd most important...

Any real number would mean that his sales pitch was elephant-related, so zero is not a real number.

They say that;

e^(pi i)+1=0

Is the most beautiful equation in all of Mathematics.

 As it contains the 5 most important numbers in all of the science of math

1, 0, i, pi, and e Euler's Number

He means the mixture of all colours not being black.

0 is not important at all, it's worthless

the importance of zero is very great. The first numbers, were ticks on a wall. If you (for some reason) wanted to write 1000, there is no way you are going to put 1000 ticks, just to show what 1000 looks like.

To combat this problem, the romans used letters to shorten the length of writing. Instead of 1000, they just used M which seems good, but if you put in random numbers, say 1253, it will be MCCLIII, and although it does work-- it may take a little while to figure out what exactly MCCLIII is.

without it you could use letters, like a for 10 and b for 100, but you would eventually run out. You could do a cycle, but making letters and numbers is used for other stuff, and might get unnecessarily confusing when doing really advanced math or science when you actually use letters. So it would make sense to add 0,
