I'm Stopping (for now)

So sad you're leaving. I didn't know you but somehow I feel an emptiness inside.

If you feel like they don’t understand you, or if you don’t understand them, then retreating into yourself or into a friend group that already thinks like you won’t help to resolve the situation. It’ll only put you in an echo chamber and cause further division between you and your parents. Even if you and your parents can’t come to an agreement, it’s always best to pursue an understanding, and to avoid blocking them out. Communication helps to remedy many tense situations. It’s hard and yes, it can be awkward. But think long-term, and realize that short-term discomfort can have long-lasting benefits.
