Also @KingOfBrilliancy You can reduce your daily time of checking the site, I am trying to do this and it slowly works.
Checking chess.com once a day is a great choice for you..

Mhm. Sounds good. Will try to minimize my time on this site more and more until I have a healthy dose of my social side. I wish if Chess.com added a mode where you can't access anything social unless you have the password to unlock that.

That feature would be if chess.com added parental controls

I'm over the age of 13 - no parental controlling here

It is your decision to make. If i was you i would take a break from chess.com and focus on important things (ie. schoolwork)

While I didn't face the exact same issues you have, I've also faced a burden with the digital world at times; what I did for myself is cut out all but the 10 most important clubs to me, and turned off club invites. While the chess.com social world has deteriorated greatly, it was to be expected (it happens to every social site after a few years), and that doesn't mean that there aren't wonderful places and people here.

Ultimately, the solution is different for everyone, I'm just sharing my story so far. Stay strong 💪

I completely agree, Youssef.

When I was sick 2 weeks ago, I was super inactive on Chess.com Social, even for a few days after that. I've not been as active as I was. I used to love this site too, but I've never come closer to quitting. Tbh if I got banned idk if I'd even try to come back.

I go to online school, which is the only reason that I can stay active. Next year, when I go to public, in person, school I'll probably quit (ofc if I haven't quit before, or even been banned) because I wont have the time, and it'd just make my life more stressful and complicated.

I sent you fun trophy to cheer you up.

Im sorry for what your feeling, but welcome to the chaos. :<

To add on, the 2 options that you (KOB) mentioned at the end of the forum (in my view) may not be the only 2 options. A balanced alternative could be to stay with chess.com but reduce your presence/obligations.

I would love if you could stay, but I understand if you have to leave, everyone needs a break.

Thanks for your work tho, it was important for chess.com.

Can you list what I did for Chess.com? What if Chess.com Social was there without me?

I might leave, I might stay, but I just need your opinions. Thanks for your opinion @Isengard1

You fought trolls. Without it, some younger users would already be lost.

But apart from this impersonal description, I can only agree with Ahmed, even though I am not Egyptian. You brought fun and something interesting in my boring day routine here. You are more important than all my bullet rating I'll ever reach.

But a break might actually help.

Hey, if you feel like you need to take a break from the social side, don't hesitate. It doesn't have to be permanent - even just a week long break can help : ). Like F1 said, you have more than two options. You could quit forever or stay forever, or you could just take a short break. And, more than anything, don't let the trolls and haters get to you!

P.S. F1's suggestion about picking 10 clubs to stay active in has merit. If you feel overwhelmed, you could try that.

I'm extremely sad and crying right now,

I'm in a dilemma - do I stay in the social side and keep growing, or do I put an end to it? Please put your comments, I extremely need your opinions.

Boohoo. Welcome to social media and life.

Prioritize what you want and give up the distractions. Only you know da wae.

idk if you didn't read what he posted but it literally says that trolls and haters are bothering him. If you have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything. This is why we can't have nice things.

It says a lot more which you probably missed. He sought advice. The advice isn't nice but practical. Having false feel good friends like you is detrimental.

Poor KOB, even asking for personal advice attracted some trolls-
