*Quickly, we split into a rebel force collectively known as the Forest Brothers.*

*An order is set to all guards, peacekeepers, and civilians to report and eliminate and trace of The Forest Brothers*

*Many bunkers are made and recruitment is extended to the small villages.*

*about a quarter of the population already went to The Forest Brother’s. It seems the population agreed that Slash needs to be taken out.*

*Starts raiding Slash's forces.*

*Helps Rook attack Slashe’s forces.*

*The forces quickly target roads with explosives, making it near impossible to travel.*

*Slash was forced to not just fight the rebels, but also to figure out how to keep himself in power. There was one way to remove a political threat, though...*

*It involved, though, the murder of the old monarchs in a foreign land.*

Slash was pacing. He wanted to stop the rebels quickly and quietly, and preferably with few casualties to avoid future rebellion. He couldn’t think of a good way to do this however. He couldn’t expect cooperation from rebels. It seemed to him that the only solution would have to be force.

After days of waiting at the tavern, the stranger that the Peacemaker has been waiting for arrives.

Then he remembered. He had gotten a report from one of his chief spies about what seemed to be some kind of weapon underneath the library. The spy had even managed to tell him who had built and designed the machine. He didn’t know what it did, but he was desperate for anything to help win quicker. “Bring me this man alive and well.” he told two of his guards. “Tell him who it is. And make sure he brings all the technical drawings that will be in his apartment.”

The Peacemaker and the man converse quietly in hushed whispers, after looking around to make sure no one is looking, they begin speaking in a foreign language that sounds nothing like the local language. After much discussion they revert back to speaking in English in more casual tones.

The scientist arrived looking slightly rushed but otherwise safe and sound. Slash immediately began. “I know you are not from my country, but you built this machine in my country, and I want to know what it does.”

“Yes yes, I know. To simplify, it increases the strength of mind control.”

Slash shivered in excitement. “By how much?”

“In a case like you, virtually across the entire planet with intense enough concentration.”

Slash was shocked. He had always thought that it was impossible to extend mind control beyond a few meters. This was astonishing.

The scientist continued: “what’s more, it allows for multiple people to be controlled at once. You could hold control of millions easily if they are nearby.”

Slash couldn’t believe the fortunate timing. This was the perfect chance to end the war without killing a single person. What’s more, it could very well be used in the future for keeping his people in check.

“I know you want to use this to beat those rebels, and I don’t blame you. But there’s one thing I should say. I don’t recommend you yourself use it. You aren’t acclimated to the feeling yet. I strongly suggest you have someone you know with the ability do it for you, or it could potentially harm you.”

Well, there was the caveat. Slash knew exactly one man with the same mind control as him: Will. And he wasn’t sure Will would be fine with helping him potentially kill this many people. He hadn’t originally intended on it, but he realized that once the war was over, with this machine he could erase the memory from people, allowing him to safely kill the rebels. Unfortunately, Will would likely hate that plan.
