There are Cultural Differences which cannot be compromised. A Muslim will eat beef which many Hindus cannot tolerate. Hindus and Taoist worship many idols which Muslim and Modern Christians cannot tolerate. If the couple is willing to ISOLATE themselves from family affairs, it could work. Demanding from the partner respect and tolerance is easier said than done. Why insist on interracial relationship? There are enough fishes

Are interracial relations taboo? I know a lot of couples who are different ethnicities. Interreligional relationships, however, are not likely to be happy.

Your difference sounds more religious than racial. I am white and my wife is Asian and we have few problems.
Worrisome, to say the least. There is even a taboo about knowing who you are

If anything you get SPECIAL PRIVILEGES for doing either while pretending you’re a victim.
