Animals have supra senses that humans don't.

1. cutaneous vibration sensors
2. electroreception sensors
3. electromagnetic sensors
4. hydrodynamic detectors
5. animals body detects specific nutrients lacking in their bodies
6. the catfish skin is a taste sensor - it's like a swimming tongue
7. a snake's tongue has ducts which pick up scent molecules for locating preys
8. the skin of a worm is one big chemoreceptor that senses the minutest chemical changes
9. dogs smell in stereo, they can smell a vast array of things not smelled or seen by humans - hormones, pheromones...
10. nearly half of a sharks brain is dedicated to the sense of smell...
11. the sight of a falcon can spot a prey even while diving at 100mph
12. some fish have eyes allowing them to see both above and below them simultaneously
13. some spiders have close 360 degrees vision and ultraviolet radiation detectors
14. worker honeybees senses the Earths magnetic field and uses it as a map to find their ways home
15. beetles have infrared radiation detectors and can spot a forest fire from 50 miles away.
16. wolves howl at their own unique pitch to identify themselves from one another
17. elephants can hear infrasounds below 20Hz...a range that humans can't detect
18. dolphins, bats, porpoises, moths can hear sounds above 110 KHz...a range that humans can't detect

These are just things thus far discovered by science.

Without the scientists to tell atheists what to believe or not believe in, their world would be a very dreary place, boxed up in the dark ignorance of things that exists outside of their limitations - their "reality", because for them, nothing can exist beyond what an atheist can see, touch, taste, smell and hear.

Ironically, atheist, in many ways, "blindly put faith" in the scientist who tell them what is true or not true for I don't think many atheists could actually understand the language of physics, chemistry, biochemistry, etc....(history have shown that scientists "collectively" can get things wrong ...)

Even more ironically, THE scientist of all scientists, himself, believed in  God (am speaking of Einstein).

Food for thought.

An Atheist or such, believes there is no God or after life, but what if there is?

A Christian beliefs there is a God and an after life, but what if there isn't?

A Christian beliefs there is a God and an after life, but doesn't know if they are good enough to make heaven.

A Christian beliefs there is a God and an after life, but knows he can never be good enough to be worth heaven.

A Christian who knows he can never be good enough, but believes in Christ to be the payment for his sins and thus does not have to worry about being good enough but tries to be good even though he knows he will fail, but keeps trusting in the payment that has been paid.

I will choose the later of them all, because if there is no hell, I haven't lost a thing and if it's true, then I have gained everything.

Just food for thought, it needs no answer.

That's why church hanged up Galileo ?!!
Because  it does not exist in  bible that earth moves around the sun .

That's so silly to rely upon such inferior beliefs like christianity , judaism or islam .

Most often mosques and charchs say against science though they fall sick and take medicine invented by  science. They use aircondition, microphone, telephone and electricity and say science does know anything ha ha ha.
Their stupid 'Books' know everything.

Earth64

Church killed Hypatia for nothing but telling the truth about universe.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypatia

Earth64

The stupid books say "..fear me..".
Fearing whom ?

It is the language of religion ''Fearing".

Then it will be easy to rule and to control people's mind.

God created and unleashed evil to deceive us and he wil judge both of us at the end of the time.

How Funny? you unleash enemy behind  me and if i get deceived and hampered by enemy , you will punish me too. wow  awesome judgement.

Nice try on the "we see reality and the rest of you are just stumbling around in the dark" argument. But it has no merit. You are trying to prove a negative. What you believe is what you believe and I have no wish to change that. I have met several atheists. I find them to be as moral and upright as anyone else but many of them are as fanatical about what they believe as those who are highly religious. It's a big universe and there is room enough for alternate views of reality. Peace be with you.

Here's how you can know about things without any data or proof.

My sister rents a 26ft truck - she's moving.

She asks me to come along and drive the truck.

We walk into the place - they're a vendor for a truck rental company.

As soon as I saw those two - the manager (male) and his assistant (female), I knew that they were crooks. My sister dialogues with them, give them all her information regarding the reservation she made. She handed them her ID and her credit card. After they took down all the information the guy hands them back to her. He hands us the key to the truck, points to the truck in the yard. My sister starts to walk off, I interjected, we'd like a receipt for the transaction. The guys says "Sorry, our printer broke down" (the assistant is in the background confirming his claim)....I said, "Sis, there's something off about these guys. Le'ts go elsewhere"....she says, " Well, you know that happens...printers break down. You can't jump to conclusions".

The next day we return the truck. The office was already shut down. No vendor. The truck rental company had shut this vendor down. My sister's credit card was charged well over the one day rental. That's all it took folks - overnight.

Quite frustrating looking after sis. This scenario is history repeating itself over and over again. Tally up her losses from not having a "6th sense" about things -- I'd say it is over $60k in the last 15 years.

Saying Atheism is a religion is kind of like saying no money is a type of coin.

But when atheists start behaving like religious folk hell bent on converting others to their belief of the inexistence of God, atheism begins to behave like a religion.

"Live and let live" is not their mantra.

I concede that religion has been used as pretext for wars and violence.

But the problem is not "religion". For "religion" could be one of peace, of pacifism, of justice and tolerance...

The problem is in the "heart of mankind itself". The Holocaust, WW2, genocides in Bosnia, Rwanda, Cambodia ...none are "God" related.

"religion", "racial supremacy", "political/economic" ideology ... they are mere suface garments of the "heart of mankind" -- a very sick one.

Your fight - atheists - is wasteful of your intelligence and energy. Best spend it on getting at the roots of things...that is, if your reason for fighting "religion" is because you think it is behind all the violence we see.

The Evil in the heart of man - is like water, whatever obstacles you put in front of it it will flow around it, change the receptacle of religion, to the receptacle of atheism, it will fill it up just the same, change the hat of capitalism to communism, it will  wear it just the same...

Pulpofeira

Hey, that's not my case! And what the heck are you doing with that pidgeon?!

gopher_the_throat

I guess you could say atheism is sort of like a religion based on the second definition I have copied from Merriam Webster.

  1. a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices

  2. a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith

That's like saying "when a red car is painted blue, it makes the color red the same as the color blue."

The other problem is that atheists believe all sorts of different things, and don't necessarily agree with each other. There's no doctrine for them to follow; they are individuals.
