Even assertive people who rebel against “the system”, by which I mean outside influences, and minimise their dependence upon others, are still in some measure constrained by the world. These people are usually the more successful ones, who possess a far greater degree of control over their lives and themselves.
Is free will real, or are our lives predetermined by factors beyond our control?

blink 5 times right now..
okay, you did that out of free will right? i told you to but i didnt force you to..
now do something completely out of free will..
that was what we actually call “free will”
if you want to go deeper, its more like everything that has ever happened in this universe has been determined and we are just acting it out
in that case, what we call free will is an illusion.. we are made believe that we choose to do something but we are really just playing something out..
True. We “choose” to use social media for 6 hours a day. We “choose” to play candy crush instead of completing our homework or practicing for the big game tomorrow. We “choose” to waste our time.

if free will isnt real then why do we think of free will?! is it just another illusion to make us believe again that it is real?!?! 😵💫😵💫
The ones who end up better, in spite of getting the same facilities as others do, the same amount of support and start with the same intellect, are the ones who do things right and actually make choices. These people aren’t completely free, but they don’t have their actions effectively controlled by others. At least not to the extent that most of us do.

Existence doesn’t really have “rules”. Free will is a construct that people made, to give themselves some feeling of control. It’s why the strategy of dominance is less successful than the strategy of prestige.
I don’t even know what to believe anymore. Both sides have pretty compelling arguments.
Believing in nothing except which advances your agenda is what I do, usually.

how can free wills interact?
He means that the free wills of others often impact others’ circumstances, I think.
Everyone has free will, but we can't change everything.
