I'd vote yes. Thoughts can be memories/ imagination/mental images and words aren't needed for that. Im sure deaf/mute people think like everybody else but maybe substitute different communication. I've always wondered about blind people dreaming. I'd like to ask. Maybe there's a blind person on here that could answer that?

Language DID enable us to be socially complex but we can still think of material things in detail

language is (probably) not neccesary for thought but it is for expressing them

I have synesthesia, every sound I hear triggers an automatic sensation of seeing colors and shapes, often they are completely formless or so complex that language is insufficient. people who have used psychedelics run into the same issue.
