🖐😀🖑 IMAGINATION
I have always thinking about it until Kraminik said something about it in an interview. The answer he said makes a lot of sense to me. He said (loosely speaking) IQ and the ratings are not proportional to each other. He explained further that you may find someone who plays chess with a rating of 2000 with higher IQ than someone who plays chess with a rating of 2500. However, if someone passes FIDE rating of 1400 is definitely in top 10% of higher IQ people.
I am a firm believer of what kramnik said. As I age, my ratings increase a bit, maybe until I am in my 60s and beyond. But my IQ is definitely decreasing which is also age dependent.
Roughly - chess maniacs are specialists in intellect. Fischer was smart on the board but I would not listen to him about politics or anything to do with people at all.
