It can't get something wet if it itself is not wet. If you put water on your hand and you transfer it to the counter, your hand got wet. Water (which is wet) got the counter wet (which was dry). Therefore if water is not wet then how does it get other things wet.

it’s not a gas. it’s formed from two molecules that can be in gaseous form but when the atoms combine they make a liquid (water) which is a substance in aquaeous form making it wet. and even your argument of it being a gas is incorrect because the gas form of H2O is steam which if you feel is also wet
