Kind of like the wasps that mate with orchids that mimic a female wasp.
I had a handle on another site that sounded sort of female and guys would send me messages assuming I was female (even without a picture). A couple of them asked how old I was, which sounded kind of creepy, like they were trolling for young gitls. I would either tell them I was male or simply tell them my age and they didn't bother me again.

Well, not to say there aren't any nice ladies on chess.com, but some of the guys have got to get a clue, and think logically! For example, the other day I saw a member with an obvious picture of Uma Thurman as her avatar (? maybe it's a female member, maybe not!...or it might be a guy who likes Uma), with lots of people telling the person THEY were beautiful. I like Uma too, but not enough to tell someone THEY are beautiful for using Uma's picture!
Remember, a picture is just a picture, and anyone can put whatever the heck they want for "their" avatar. Maybe tomorrow as an experiment I will make myself over as a hot bikini chick to see how many comments I get (just kidding, but think about it).
Heck, I saw one member who was obviously a guy by their name, with a pic of him and his gal, and people were commenting on how beautiful he was (maybe some of our international friends don't recognize a male's name in English, who knows, and thought it was a female member with her boyfriend).
My point? Nothing huge, I just think it's kind of funny how some guys don't even realize when they are reacting to an unknown (or in Uma's case, certainly a known) picture....but if it's on the Internet, it must be true, I forgot!
