hahahahahaha you the grumpy old man haha
ITT: Blue Emu Brags Shamelessly
Blue Emu:
..That is just fantastic~
(i do mean your test score)
.. Polar-opposite,, i would somehow gingerly, like to reveal, how (i) have been surprised to find that, returning to the game, of chess, i have been feeling somewhat un-positive, as i am encountering that Chess - does not seem as approachable as i remember as a (kid).. Your Chess Suicide post was shocking! to encounter, ;^) just now.. (~that's a Jughead smiley~) --Along with forum posts, (namely the ones whose subject is qu. of strategy/ in openings and such), & the replies which inform one to investigate prior documented (games), i am very wondering about how chess-playing seems to rely somewhat,, on (past-tested) managing of the game pieces.. ..I feel, that, memorably, the game i played, was more spontaneous, and use of your own original deducing, was the process (i) would go through? The Chess Suicide submission was fascinating, but, could not/should not? the game be played more cut-to-the-quick? (Referring to the post): The placing (your piece) in reach of capture, eg. the two battling bishops/facing off, & retreating, was eye-opening, for me (a fledgling).
I hope you do not mind this train of thinking? ..I am missing knowledge! i know!! i do not mean to write something erringly, and i am loving Puzzle of the Day at least,, and the additional added puzzles members post.. I do think, reviewing chess openings is actually, what i will venture to do next.. and i will take the advice from the forums.. Best wishes,,
Thanks, Neena.
Update: I graduated college a month or so ago, with a final (year's average across 18 subjects) GPA of 4.265
I've been offered a paid one-year internship as an IT support tech at the Applied Studies Unit... the computer research lab of the Tactics School, Combat Training Center, Department of National Defense. Starts less than a month from now.
EDIT: Here's a thread that you might enjoy reading. It's a loooong post, though.

I'm impressed. Most people don't have the attention span.
No-one has yet replied tl;dr (too long; didn't read)
So at 57 years old, I finally decided to go to college. Taking a one-year IT course at the New Brunswick Community College.
I'm in a class with a bunch of youngsters, whose parents probably hadn't even met back when I had my first job in IT (in 1975).
The syllabus includes Networking, the OSI and TCP/IP models, Server Configuration and Management, Computer Hardware (including assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, upgrading, etc), Applications, SOHO, Operating Systems (Windows from XP to Win-8, Mac OS-X, Unix derivatives, etc), Mobile devices, Programming in VB and HTML5... as well as the usual non-IT courses such as Interpersonal Communications, Job Safety, Customer Service, Job Prep, etc.
Just wrote my final exams for the Winter-term courses... and scored 276 out of a possible 278 points: over 99.25%
That'll teach those whipper-snappers!
... and GET OFF MY LAWN! mumble-mumble-mumble...
--- Well yes you should brag a bit with taking that course ! I'm very glad to hear that things went well for you.
A grumpy old man at 57 ?? What was that phrase you used? Its the same in music. Soar and collapse, soar and collapse. Careful; if you get too good at combat training school, Erik may want to hire you.
We can use some combat instructors in the forums these days. 10 million members and only a few know HOW to use threads.
