Let the Galaxy Burn!

I have a guilty reading pleasure:

It's called Warhammer 40K fiction.  Embarassed

I love sci-fi, especially sci-fi with a polished literary quality (such as the novels of Card), but I confess to loving a bloody good time on a futuristic battlefield and nothing quenches that thirst better than some Warhammer 40K fiction!

I am currently reading Let the Galaxy Burn! by Marc Gascoigne and Christian Dunn.  Sure, this isn't literary sci-fi of the highest caliber, but I will say that it's been a long time since I have had so much trouble putting down a book!

For the Emperor!

Here's the book description:

"By popular demand, we've gathered up the best sf short stories ever written for the Black Library into one massive volume, and added some brand new tales! Warhammer 40,000 fans will be keen to get their hands on classic stories that have been unavailable for a while, and all readers will enjoy the range and variety on offer in this high-value volume."

I love the cover too!  Cool

Love the art cover. Don't let G.W. Bush see this book, he doesn't need any new ideas.

LOL!  I think we might already be to late!  Wink

Ya know, I thought it was strange when I heard President Bush announce a recruitment drive for Space Marines....

I'm more of a sci-fi fan, but after thoroughly enjoying Let the Galaxy Burn, I decided to try a Warhammer fantasy compendium entitled Tales of the Old World.  While I don't find Warhammer fantasy to be as original and inventive as Warhammer 40K, I must say that this collection of the best short stories from the past 25 years of Warhammer is really good!  Like Let the Galaxy Burn,  all the tales are full of bloody battles and selfless heroism as the Empire of Man wages war against Chaos and its myriad minions.  If you're the type that enjoys tales of brave knights in shining armor (and what chess player doesn't?), this is the book for you.

And, again, the cover is cool!  Cool

Book Description:
"Repeating the winning formula established by Let the Galaxy Burn, this bumper anthology unites classic short stories with brand-new tales. An attractive package that will appeal to Warhammer fans and all lovers of great fantasy fiction."
