Let’s make a story about chess

There was only 3 people on the board, one black king and one white king at the bottom, the pawn one space until reaching the top of the board. (He just realized he’s on a board)

Once upon a time, on an 8x8 board in a distant chess club, lived a lonely White pawn. He felt so alone, even though there were other pawns on either side of him and royalty behind him. It did not help. He felt so alone.
He stood in front of all of these nobles with so much more power than he. And he was also in the centre of that rank. What a horrible place to be and he could not see much of a future for himself. Suddenly, he felt something grab him and then he really was all alone, standing in the centre of the board, all by himself, with everyone else still behind him.
As he stood there helpless, mindful of his fate, a menacing Black Knight moved out to threaten him. What was going to happen to him? What could he do? He stood there, motionless, waiting, waiting for what? He did not know, could not know. (Did not want to know!)
The war had started and he was in the centre of it. And all he could do was wait for someone else to make a decision . . . and determine his fate. "Oh chess", he thought. "What a terrible position to be in."

So he ultimately ended up on the square and having come to grips with the Grand Master decided to make some money by becoming a pawnbroker.

When the winning King was hailed the victor in the final match
he was determined to retain his supremacy. Therefore he decreed
that in the future any opposition which challenged him would be
immediately subject to pawnicide.!
