But Troy where we part company is I can't accept that upon seeing the illusion for what it is it ends.

Maybe we are talking about different things but Troy when you see a sunset it's beautiful to you.

You might think as I do that truly beauty doesn't exist.

The reality is you're just experiencing the sight of vibrations and there is no you to be conscious of that only nature.

Nonetheless it's a beautiful sunset!

For me it's like this.

We know the earth is revolving. The galaxy moving and the universe expanding.

However we experience we are still. We are aware that it's an illusion but the illusion persists.

And so it is with this concept of self.

Troy if you truly could become free from the illusion you'd disappear. There would be no cognition.

Subconscious maybe but no awareness.

Unless I'm missing something. Maybe you have an experience I don't. Anyway I'm there and I'm enlightened. So there!

SA I just want to say I value you as a person and as a contributor. You've many interesting things to say.

You're intelligent and express yourself very well and despite you having a deep faith you're willing to wonder.

I'm not trying to change your mind just enjoying wondering alongside you.

The same with all you guys.

Tom, For the record.. I'm glad that you 'found peace' by choosing Not, to 'solve'!

And, thanks, in part to you 'Tom'.. For the past, circa 8 or more months.. I've since come around, to believing,in 'constrained' 'free will'!

.. As on another level.. my, &!*^#!^ 'catheter', has put the 'kabosh' on any thought or temptation, of meditating, on 'impure' thoughts! ..ha! ..{though, True}.

Tom-Tom.Lighten up ! Re your thread "Wine"- your organisational skills are needed to formalise the embryonic group. It's Saturday night where you are.I'm some hours later. For tonight think more "Wine" than "Why's and Wherefores"(philosophically speaking)."When you hear that hot marimba-let yourself go-Cheers.

Oh no, beauty does exist. And it's not in the sunset, which may be beautiful, but its essence is elsewhere. It has nothing to do with a particular object.

I have most of the picture. I know that all that's real. Ever was and ever will be is nature.

That we project values on to things such as meaning and beauty and moral.

My final piece to the jigsaw is to understand how the I, how the me as I imagine myself to be, or experience myself to be, fits into this picture.

How my individual consciousness is a part of things.

Once I've found that I can be truly at one with the everything.

I'm almost there and I know how to make the final step.

Don't worry and map.

That's the point: when you see where the I fits in, you will throw 'the map' in the trash!

The experience of Louis Agassiz, told by his wife:

"He had been striving to decipher the somewhat obscure impression of a fossil fish on the stone slab in which it was preserved. Weary and perplexed, he put his work aside at last and tried to dismiss it from his mind.

Shortly after, he waked one night persuaded that while asleep he had seen his fish with all the missing features perfectly restored. "He went early to the Jardin des Plantes, thinking that on looking anew at the impression he would see something to put him on the track of his vision.

In vain—the blurred record was as blank as ever. The next night he saw the fish again, but when he waked it disappeared from his memory as before.

Hoping the same experience might be repeated, on the third night he placed a pencil and paper beside his bed before going to sleep. "Towards morning the fish reappeared in his dream, confusedly at first, but at last with such distinctness that he no longer had any doubt as to its zoological characters.

Still half dreaming, in perfect darkness, he traced these characters on the sheet of paper at the bedside. "In the morning he was surprised to see in his nocturnal sketch features which he thought it impossible the fossil itself would reveal.

He hastened to the Jardin des Plantes and, with his drawing as a guide, succeeded in chiseling away the surface of the stone under which portions of the fish proved to be hidden. When wholly exposed, the fossil corresponded with his dream and his drawing, and he succeeded in classifying it with ease.

I haven't got time to read and reply right now but that comment reminds me of something.

I heard someone say today that the best of their friends are broken.

I'm broken. I admit it.

Aren't we all?
