Light from far away places.

Maxwell showed us that light and all of electromagnetism travel forward and backward in time simultaneously.  The forward and backward waves fuse togeather and shimmer in our 3 dimensional Universe at 186,000 M.P.S.  It takes 12 billion years for the light from a red shifted galaxy to reach our eye.  Light also leaves our eye backward in time to that same galaxy.

The habitat of light is in the 5th dimension. If you try and trap a photon (a particle of light) it will increase its energy and escape you.  Because the body of that photon belongs to the history and future of the Universe.  One can not trap it.

Light does not degrade or wear out, it does not age and is not effected by entropy.  Light is at the beginning of the Universe (Big Bang if you accept the theory) and at doomsday (if there is one) the end of the Universe simultaneously.

Pesky little bastards.

Talking about photons, yes, you could trap one, since RevLarry seems to mean that a photon is a tangible thing. . .otherwise. . .how are you going to catch it?

But what if we think of light as an undulatory movement of the ether. . . what and how are we going to trap what?

Anyhow I agree with Rev´s philosophy.

RevLarry

tabor, they are wavicales wave and particle togeather.  Yes you are correct but the photon can turn into an electron.  If you tryed to trap the electron only as a mental experiment then it gives us a picture of the quantum world.

The Universe is made up of these quantum energys and they are without age.  In that sense the big U does not age.  It is the attributes of atoms that cause age, they suffer entropy. It is in that sense the Universe is running down.

I labour at trying to bring an esoteric phenominon to the average person.

ivandh, if you are looking for ET way out there, you only need to look to hollywood. (grin)  how do you get that little smiley face  down here, I clicked all over it..

Rev.

As I said in my post: "

Anyhow I agree with Rev´s philosophy"

Do not take my comments as arguments against you. . .Only that I also belong to the scientific minded people.group.(like you) and one of our distintive features is to "oppose" any theory/like expression, not to precisely rebate it, but to better learn or, we could say, imrove our knowledge.

In the case of Religion or pure Philosophy that attitude could be called "the action of the Devil´s lawyer"

As far as "I think" I know, the Universe, as we look at it today, will tend to disappear. . . but its constituents. . .only the One that made the Universe knows what will do with them.

Hey, RevLarry, somebody is here, or somebodies. The evidence is stupid that "somebodies" is, perhaps, visiting this planet, and have been doing so for quite a while. I have looked into the UFO phenomenon for almost two years now, and the evidence for their existence is more compelling than the evidence for Abraham Lincoln to have existed...seriously...

Ivandh, if you have a problem with the "fact" that UFOs are real, state your questions on the matter, otherwise, you're drunk!Laughing

I do not feel or think you are arguing against me. I guess it is difficult to type text without giving some kind of wrong impression.  Not in any of your comment's did I have such a notion.

I felt good when I read your response.  Keep thouse cards and letters coming.

tryst. I respect your point of view.  But it was the late Carl Sagan who said "there is not a shred of evidence".  The Drake equation has to many unknowns.

The way I see it if they can not communicate one on one they can go back where they came from.  "GO HOME U.F.O."  (grin)

The "Drake equation" is being revised almost daily. Carl Sagen? Who gives a sh*t about anyone who does not look into the evidence, which he clearly did not.

But yes, I understand that people couldn't care less if they are here, I'm just saying that the evidence points to the fact that they are...

tryst..Well I think some scientist's disagree, but who knows the Universe is pritty dog gone big.  I sure don't know. Personally I'd be just as content with them as without.  Dr. Hugh Ross says the nuclear process is happining either to fast or to slow for life to evolve anywhere elce.

There is only a small area in the Universe (around us) and only for a very short time that life can even survive here.

Tomorrow im going to post a topic on the "Earth in the center of the Universe". Looking forward on chatting with you there.

The thing about the "extraterrestrial hypothesis" is that it is only that: a hypothesis. There is little doubt that beings in crafts are being seen, and landing on this planet. After that, we have to go with reports of abduction, which I find to be murky. Because I don't know about the method of hypnosis being applied. Meaning, I don't know about the questions during hypnosis, if they are "leading" questions, or not.

A Japanese scientist said something which seems reasonable enough, and I'm going to paraphrase it for you. He said, 'It would be as if we came upon an ant-hill, and grabbed an ant.' Why would beings with a superiority in the sciences, land on the White house lawn, when it does not matter where they land, or who they speak to? They couldn't care less what we think is a major institution. Indeed, I wouldn't want the congress of the U.S. speaking for human beings.

But it is a fact, like George Washington is a fact, that something continuously visits this planet, and relunctantly, couldn't care less if human beings decide to investigate it, or not.

First click where you want the emoticon to appear, in the box that your typing in.

Then click on the smiley face.  3rd, click on the emoticon that you choose and it should appear where you had clicked first.

Insert smileys & emoticons

If you click this button a small window will pop up that gives you the choice of 16 different smiley faces (also called emoticons). To insert the emoticon of your choice, click on it in the window and it will appear in your document and the window will close. (Just remember to click first where you want it to appear.)

To me that is an out on the limb theory.  It seems to me there would be enough of these ETs around that some of them would care enough to break the silence.  Stephen Hawking says " We should keep our heads down"  meaning of course if they find us it won't be silent for very long.

RevLarry

ok Joe Ill check it out Thanks..

I find it quite likely that at points in the history of the universe, at various locations in space, sentient life has existed. But when you consider the truly unimaginable size of the universe and the equally unimaginable length of time it has existed, and you factor in the comparatively short life span of a given species and the technical obstacles that species would have to overcome in order to travel significant distances outside of it's own solar system, contact with ET's seems unlikely. However, it's not impossible. I think that contact with ET's would be more like a Thomas Pynchon novel than a Steven Spielberg movie.
