Since there’s minus nothing, we can put one next to them, as a placeholder. So we have 2 + -(1) + -(1). So, we get 2-2, which is O. We know this makes sense because at the start of this problem we turned some things on their sides. So, to finish this we have to turn O on its side. We get O still. So, 2+2=O
