Ewwwwww, there are girls on this site!
Males who play chess are scared of girls in real life. But we're a lot braver when we play against them on the internet. If it gets too scary we can log off and run away.
In real life girls do strange things that chess playing guys don't like doing. Like taking showers and that sort of stuff.

When I play a woman a see zero difference, is just another player who will do their best to kick my a*s, and I will try my best to defend my king!

Looks like we have a mix of emotion on this one.. I think that you are right though, by BF is on this site and he doesn't even like to play me because I am not "good enough". I would be nice to see a little more encouragement instead of demeaning.

As you may know the strongest professional woman chess player is Judit Polgar who's peak rating was FIDE 2735. She was once asked why are there not enough woman in the top level and in reply she said because when as a child, girls are not encouraged to play chess as boys.
So it is absolutely important that when a girl wants to be at the top level of chess and compete with men she needs to start at a very young age, keep her interest with the game and most importantly have the support of her parents and have a good coach.
Current women world champion GM Alexandra Kosteniuk is working very hard to popularise chess among girls so is GM Susan Polgar. In places like South America, India, Asia pacific, China there are programs there already to encourage girls to play chess in early age. And as a result we are seeing lot of young latented girls who are becoming Grandmaster at a teenage age. Some example are GM Koneru Humpy who became a GM at only 15 from India then we have GM Hou Yifan from China who became the youngest woman to receive the GM title at the age of 14.
I won't be surprices if we see woman chess players in the top 10 rating list constantly in the next few decades.

There is a definite bias against women players here. I realize there are more men than women chess players, but can we call a truce and just encourage each other?
Both genders have something unique to bring to the table. Men are more analytical, but women are better at multi-tasking.
I'm sad to see so much female-bashing in the forums.
