Nirvana is defined as a state of "no flame". The perfected state of awareness. A state of release from all karmic impulses and samskaras. Sometimes it is referred to as Original Mind; mind devoid of activity and/or contents. (To a ruminating cosmologist, it is space, emtpy and limitless but with a depth and a luminosity. Words are so difficult.) Would you like me to make that more unclear for you?
