Mistake
My fur is black as night,
With one big white stripe.
I have a little brown nose,
That sniffs the air as I go.
I have a big fluffy tail,
That warns without fail.
It keeps predators at bay,
As I go down about my way.
I come around when the sun goes down,
Raiding your trash can, you’ll hear my sound.
But, even though I never prefer to fight,
I’m ready to raise my tail if I ever need to strike.
Why was I born at all? it was my mistake.
I fought the world too hard, it was my mistake.
You accepted every blame without a word,
I just stood there, ashamed , it was my mistake.
Was that your voice calling out to me?
I believed it too fast , it was my mistake.
The faces around were cold and blank,
Still, I smiled like a fool , it was my mistake.
An old door came along as I walked,
I stopped for a moment , it was my mistake.
They want my corpse for their prayer now,
But I chose to live , it was my mistake.
You waited for just a three words from me,
But I said nothing , it was my mistake.
