so when I try to quote him I get the red banner.

Those warnings accumulate over time and eventually I'll be muted for 24 hours (which has happened to me already on this account)

So that OP is like a auto mod trap. Anyone who quotes him will get flagged.

Thanks so much for your great system. I'm sure your programmers are top of the line /s

Why did you want to quote him ?

We all know little kids get a kick out of using rude words. Why did you ?

For some reason I read that in the voice of the woodwork teacher from my Catholic secondary school.

In general, you are just trying to ruin chess.com. I feel bad for you. By the way, you are a horrible persuader.

Staff should give us old geezers our own "Get Off My Lawn" forum where nobody bothers us... ;-)

It seems @lagomorph likes to ask questions, but he wont answer any. How rude.

He also misunderstood the topic. I'm not saying it's incorrect to censor bad words, I'm saying it's incorrect that a large portion of users don't have this rule applied to them (apparently anyone who posts using a certain app or device, I don't know).

... and one doesn’t wish to inherit a rude thread and appear to be the op.

Usually because I am replying to stupid people.

It seems there are a few people who were so offended by the title that they didn't bother understanding the substance of the post.

I know this is mainly a forum for kids, but I have to admit my expectations were a little higher.

Why did I quote him? Because I was replying to his post.

Now it's my turn to ask you a question:

Why do you ask stupid questions?

This is a legitimate question.

It's too bad we're both cranky today. @Lagomorph and I got along fine when I had a previous llama account.

Some don't find those words particularly rude and use them in normal conversation. While they may refrain from writing it themselves on sites like this to respect the rules, the alarms in their heads might not go off when they read or quote it.

I had an incident the other day where I replied to a guy accidentally pointed his anger at me when he was supposed to point his anger at a guy who used the f and 1 other incredibly bad word and I quoted the guy who used the taboo. I called a mod to lock the forum, he removed all the quotes, and didn't get mad at me. I'm afraid I can't get too specific otherwise people will know what the incident is and I'll get in trouble for mentioning it. But why, @TXBaseballfan?  mention it if u think u will get in trouble? Because I think I can get away with it.

Imagine my surprise when I clicked on the title and found llama as the OP. Too bad. I was hoping to flame a five year old child but my hopes and dreams were crushed mercilessly.

only once, where it ever got close... it was when I made a casual reference to my brand new 2001 blitz rating and you made a snarky comment, but since you were completely right I just shut my mouth 😐

I mean... I understand (or at least I can rationalize) why it is this way. It's just annoying, so I'm letting them know it's annoying.

Some people might call that whining like a baby... but I prefer to call it "constructive feedback" tongue.png

Besides, if I want to play in un-titled tuesday I have to be a good llama and keep this account open for 3 months.

I'm a few days away.
