it's true how people would want the ipods more. But who cares if it's on tv. It may look awsome but it won't work as well as the mp3. I have an mp3player and it's awsome. my sis has and ipod. but it not as good as the mp3

I do, have, and always will prefer MP3players over Ipods, not only because I rather dislike Apple, although I think that may have helped at some point. I guess the main reason is because I don't have to mess with the Apple Store, I don't need to create an account or buy cards specificly for the Apple Store.
If I ever wanted to change the layout of how I mess with the MP3player; I could just get something else to control it, I woulden't need to mess with the source code of the Apple Store or anything.
Yes you can put videos and things on an Ipod, but if you upgrade to a MP4player, you could do just the same. They also do not have any radio, which I am rather fond of.
My own personal favorite MP3player is the Sansa (make bu SanDisk), here's a nice litte picture of it:
Really anything made by SanDisk is good, I haven't come across anything that I don't like about them; they even have a microphone imbeded in it, even though it rather sucks.

Personally, I prefer Ipods. Now hear me out. I prefer Itouches to anything, yet your basic ipods (nanos, video, etc.) I find to be...bland. Any other MP3 player can easily beat out a basic Ipod on durability, quality, and basic benefits. Yet I find the touch can beat out anything because, on top of being a music player, it is almost like a small computer. You got solid apps, web browsing, easy use, video, etc. I use it a lot as a portable gaming system when on the road, and if I need to look something up, I just go google it. Its simple.
So unless this topic because specific (Ipod Nanos v. Zunes), thats all I have to say.
PS: I owned a nano. It never broke, never had a dead battery, never just stopped working. I don't know why people say they have low durability, but maybe I just got lucky.

I have a DS, as well as a flash card to go with it. After playing with the Iphone for a little bit, I went straight back to the DS. Compaired to other gaming sytems, it's is terrible. Yes the touch screen rather sucks, but I have yet to find a game for the Iphone that:
1) Has a storyline
2) That is not:
A) A tower defence game
b) That jelly car thing
3) Is interesting
4) Has a good storyline
The story is a big thing to me, and most other people who play video games, and... well... the Iphone offers none of that.

Thats funny, cause I could care less about story. Go specifically, there are 2 games a like to play a lot. Tap Tap (Guitar Hero for Touch), and X2 Soccer. Both are fun to play, work well, and a storyline is not needed.
I also have a DS. Havn't touched it since I got it in 2008. Never really was a fan of the more common portable gaming things like DS and PSP since Game Boy Color went out of style (and pokemon went down in flames 
).
Anyway, we arnt talking about portable gaming systems compared to IPods now are we? Nope, we're talking MP3s, and the fact that the ITouch has the ability to play games (No matter how 'low quality') that other MP3s dont.

Ugh, not a reason. You hate them cause they break, you hate them cause their expensive, you hate them because their Apple, you hate them cause their plastic (winky face) but you can't hate them cause everyone likes them, because everyone does not like them. Example A: The majority of the posters on this topic.
Actually in the entire time that I have had an Ipod, it has broken three times. Every single time that it broke, it was not due to user error; meaning that the hard drive failed, and I had to get another one to get some music. Of my SanDisk Clip thing, it has broken once; and that was only because it was thrown fifty feet on the hard floor, while I was wrestling.
Take a good look at the price differences between the SanDisk Clip, and the Ipods:
You tell be which one costs less.
I never said that I disliked Apple because it was popular, that makes no difference whatsoever. I could care less how other people get their music. Reaserch11 must be a little different than me, so I gave him my personal perferance in the ways of MP3players.
I will say yes the prices are amazing. But again, I would like more than just music on my MP3, therefore like the ITouch more. If my ITouch dies, and I just want music, I will keep the Sandisk in mind, but in my present state, I'm more of a features guy.

seriously, almost everyone in my family has a mp3player. Their amazing! Their cool and everything is great on it. Nothing is useless.
MP3 players all the way. Sorry for the bump. You can drag and drop what you want on it, Ipods don't let you to do that. Plus you can use any media player to syc your music also. The Sana Fuze is a good one to have.
I agree. Ipods are terrible. well, they are nice, but i'd prefere Mp3player all the way, like Svetla said.
