You're so slay, Ray.
My 20 Year Journey: Building a Global Chess Community From Scratch
You're so slay, Ray.
Basix, I'm not slay. I just don't have the opportunity. When the Internet started in the late 1980s or early 1990s, I started to to post my name on the Internet, Google, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Other Chess Sites, Dance Communities and many more everywhere.
Hello everyone,
When I first registered on Chess.com on September 21, 2007, I wasn't just looking to play a few games to exercise my brain. I wanted to build a home, a culture, and a family for chess players worldwide. Over the last 20 years, I've had the honor of watching this platform grow, and I am proud to be one of the oldest active Filipino-American members here! [1, 3]
Many of you know me from my life outside the board as a 1960s movie character actor and a Grand Master Ballroom Dancer. Just like dancing, chess is a beautiful art where my queen and I dance across the squares! [1]
But my absolute proudest achievement on this site is community building. On November 27, 2009, I founded Pinoy Chess Philippines (PCP) to bring our community together. Since then, I have expanded our reach by managing groups like Team Philippines United (TPU) and the Ray Duque III Club International, organizing hundreds of team matches under my name. [1, 2]
Chess has no borders. Whether you are a beginner, a Grand Master, young, or old, our clubs are open to anyone who wants to enjoy the game and make lifelong friends. [1]
We have achieved so much over nearly two decades, but we are just getting started. I invite you to join our community, register for our upcoming team matches, and make history with us! [1]

Thank you all for being part of my journey. Let's keep the games going!
