Maybe the school realized that they need to teach that squirrels are squirrels and chipmunks are chipmunks, and even if a little chipmunk dreams of being a squirrel it's not biologically possible.  Instead of letting kids zone out on the internet.

I can think of some adults that shouldn't zone out on the internet.

I miss the times when manners were more used than now, the truth is that the lack of manners gives me a headache

Like kids being ungrateful for a laptop loan?

Nouvelle-Caledonie

If I don't like it very much, I prefer to find someone who plays board games with me.

I stay away from people like you, those things would not be allowed to me, it's crazy, huh, indecency, that would greatly affect my reputation

As a curmudgeon who hasn't been in a secondary school in ages, I have a couple of serious questions that I hope someone can answer. So I'm assuming that students carry their cell phones/smart phones/and or laptops into class? Do they use the laptops in class as part of the class lecture, or are they not supposed to have any electronic devices on in the classroom?

students keep their phones with them and laptops all students have to have them for school work

So do students sometimes use their phones or laptops to play chess in class?

It depends on the school. Some school (like mine) collect phones at the beginning of the day and return them at the end (to no avail, I might add, as students simply don’t give their phone in), and some schools don’t collect phones. You aren’t supposed to use your phone in class, but we all know how good students are at following directions, eh?

Most schools also give out electronic devices (laptops, ipads) that you use to do schoolwork, and some allow you to use them for stuff like games when you have no schoolwork to finish. But some students play games DURING class, because following directions is not in our blood.

A bit of a sweeping comment. Good and bad in each generation

I guess passing (paper) notes in class is just a quaint relic, haha.
