Freedom of speech does not equate to saying what you please.

WE know this is a Chess web site, lot a people of different edges from a child to very mature people. We play here to learn or sharp our skills to pass a good time. Rules are made for everyone to respect each other, no matter who you are how good you are or your rating and what edge you are.

Respect for ourselves guides our morals, respect for others guides our manners. If not everything would be a chaos. Everyone would do what they want or what they seem to be better and it would be a disorder, an absolute disaster.  I will not like that another disrespect me or disrespect others, the rules are made for a reason we should meet them.

We should retain our self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong, or probably I am on the wrong Chess web site.

...and many who do, shouldn't.

it would be ironic if this thread is locked

Connor_Macleod1518

threads should be locked for stupidity.

I should be a mod who's only job is to lock stupid threads.

You should always wash your hands BEFORE and AFTER posting. Why?                                             SALMONELLA FOUND IN CHESS.COM FORUMS!Surprised

why do we still have censorships...is it because only a few chess staff members deems it necessary on what we can and cannot see or read for fear of mass raping in our society..or maybe they are bowing down to some of the high paying sponsors of this chess site...

Because the Terms of Service on which everyone signed off dicate a certain level of behavior, conduct and deportment, all spelled out quite clearly.  Mods simply enforce these rules.

Wouldn't that be nice if true.  The thread called 'This Site' asks pertinent questions on this issue.

This is what I was trying to say with picture. Why lock a forum thread?  Awesome people here on chess.com. We should be able to have freedom of speech within reason. we know none of us want to disrespect anyone.  We all learn and grow and have a really good time.  If you lock some forums and threads up   you lock all of the forums up. Just as long as we all respect everyone from whatever walk of life we are from. People do have different beliefs from culture to culture just as long as we all respect each other every thing should be fine.

Locking a fourm is considered less severe than a deleting. Someones, a few posts are deleted and then a forum is locked.

Very offensive forums which clearly violate terms of service are locked. But what to do with the ones in the grey area... where perhaps some posts have been deleted by staff? I think that is where locking comes into the picture. In any event, a common Internet practice.
