Net Neutrality - Yay or Nay?

So today's ruling in favor of Comcast does not bode well for net neutrality. Comcast wanted to throttle BitTorrent/other bandwidth hogs but apparently now there is nothing to stop them from throttling/charging more for any class of access. (video, VOIP, remote backup).

One might say that the market will shake this out - but the fact is that in many regions there is not open competition- one or the other of the cable companies have a lock on the market.

Not sure what this means for the FCC initiative for universal wireless.

I say nay; there's no need for something like this, everything will work itself out. It's not as if people are dieing or anything; it's your internet connection, you can live without it.

To hell with these peple what i do with my internet is mine and mine alone. Those who believe that the world is theirs to ruin are sadly mistaken. Those outraged at these cowards who would lecture me about the merits of my rights can burn for all I care. They deserve much worse.

Raise your fist in defiance against this madness .
