New releases

As I promised, I would post what I thought of the new Into Eternity album when I played it.  These guys are amazing technical players.  You can tell they know what they are doing on their instruments plus that it's what they want to be doing.  There is a mixture of "death metal" vocals (aka "cookie monster) and "clean" singing.  I must be honest and say that I need a lyrics sheet if it is cookie monster.  Shoot, I sometimes need it when it's clean singing.

The guitar player (Tim Roth) had many deaths in his personal life and wrote this album as a way to help him deal with it.  It's not a happy album, but if you deal with life & death regularly (or just in your personal life) the message is loud and clear that it hurts and it sucks but you'll keep on living.  The lyrics aren't happy or brutal, but honest.  Not something that is done too much in metal.  Stand out songs for me are "Diagnosis Terminal", "The Incurable Tragedy I", and "Indignation".
