HELP! My grandmother and I want to do something fun tomorrow in NYC or Long Island.I don't want to see a play, and she doesn't want to go to a chess club. What are some good activities to do for a day?

The Met would be my first choice. That's the highest concentration of cool stuff you won't see elsewhere.
