Probably every single 'free country' in the entire world has had some lockdowns because of Covid.
Whether they're company lockdowns - lockdowns by city governments - regional governments -federal.
Why - because people are entitled to live.
To be 'free' - being alive helps.

Like in America places that never locked down did BETTER in some cases, per capita, than places that had multiple lockdowns and measures

America has done 'worse' than many.
America has had many lockdowns.
The word 'lockdown' could be argued about uselessly.

Point:  People spreading Covid disinformation and who make it their business to undermine the fight against Covid - are helping Covid to spread and to kill people and to overwhelm hospitals and to cause lockdowns.
Point:  Many of the same people then complain about lockdowns -
whatever kind of lockdown it is ...
closed restaurants - factories - parks - beaches - events - borders
absolutely whatever.
They cause the pandemic to be worse - and then complain about the then increasing measures that then have to be taken against the pandemic.

Fortunately - they don't have total power.
If they did - maybe there'd be 30 million dead now - instead of five million.

Certain states have done better then others. Per capita.

Right.
Australia has done about 25 times as well as the US.
Per capita.

Australia is totally surrounded by water and one law for the entire land.

America is a collection of 50 “countries” each with their own rules and regulations.

You can’t compare the 2.

Plus we have almost 15x the number of people as Australia….

Stick with your own country and look at the STATES

Peet we know you are anti establishment and will always argue your view point. But you are a little biased. You tend to miss the point of lockdown and vaccination because you are too busy ranting about how great and free America is. Stop cherry picking your data. And have a think about the reality of the situation.

If people don’t understand why it was right to prevent Novak from travelling, then this is it in a nutshell.

The authorities made rules. Novak tried to circumnavigate them by telling some lies. Because he’s rich and famous he thought he could do what he wants regardless. Now peet, as someone who is anti establishment, I can’t understand why you are arguing the case of the current ‘aristocracy’? The sports stars the, rich and famous, etc? Especially when the feller is clearly a nutter.

Why do people try to push so hard to undermine the fight against Covid ?
Why so much Disinformation?
Why so much apathy?
Why so much phoniness?
The motivations behind it would seem to go something like this:

The anti-vaxxers and anti-maskers anti - fight against Covid people will get a lot of attention by Provocation ...  by being 'In Your Face' against people using their heads about Covid.  People who value human life over fear of needles and masks and people who value human life over making the fight against Covid a partisan political and ideological thing instead of a fight for survival.
The anti-fight people get to feel very important and powerful -
some of them even make money off it ...
like Dr. Joseph Mercola for example.  

Novak Djokovic and his tunnel vision are not something new in top tennis and top sports.
After Mike Tyson bit off Evander Holyfield's ear in a fight - literally - Mike later claimed he was 'protecting his family'.   
Do I know this for a fact?  It was reported.  Do I have a link?  No.
The point - professional tunnel vision combined with a feeling of tremendous power and a desire to use that power to get away with things.

Even if the states that stayed open have done better than states that shut down, that's because states that stayed open have like 5 people in them total. I'd wonder what happens if they try that in NYC

Florida is the third MOST populated state(more populous than New York).

It ranks 13 in population density SLIGHTLY less than New York which is ranked 12.

It has the 5th OLDEST population in the country and thus one of the most vulnerable where New York is no where close.

New York, my home states, shit down and instituted every mandate imaginable.

Florida NEVER shut down and has virtually NO mandates, not even mask mandates in school.

There are no 2 better states to compare.

Per capita New York is ranked 7th in Covid deaths DESPITE having a much younger population and having every mandate you can imagine.

Florida is ranked 20th in deaths per capita despite having one of the OLDEST populations, a VERY similar population density, and virtually ZERO mandates.

What you THINK is logical and what actually happened are 2 different things.

The states that fared the worst had ZERO to do with mandates or lack of.

The stages that fared the worst were the FATTEST. Hands down.

Covid outbreaks appeared in states with strict mandates DESPITE measures and happened with ZERO change of policy.

I mean no offense guys but how easy are you people to fool?

For TWO YEARS you could get banned from social media for saying the reported number of Covid hospitalizations weren’t accurate because they didn’t differentiate between Covid being hospitalized FOR Covid and being hospitalized WITH Covid

And now the freaking CDC ADMITS IT!

The governor of NY went further than that.

She actually investigated and said as many as 40% of Covid “hospitalizations” were people with ZERO COVID SYMPTOMS.

ZERO!

This is coming from the damn GOVERNOR OF NEW YORK not some conspiracy website.

Some of you people are just really easily led it’s kind of scary to be honest.

They aren’t my opinion after all.

One can always sieze on a particular aspect of a statistic ..
leave out what's relevant or more significant and then push hard.
Example:  Dr. Joseph Mercola.  Knows how to push.
Example:  Anti-vaxxers.
Example:  Anti-vaxxer and anti-mask politicians.
Example:  International travelers who will even hire a team of lawyers to try to get out of being vaccinated.

Just today - I saw in the news that an airline flight was turned back to Miami because a passenger wasn't complying with the mask regulations.

He could face fines and jail time.

I’m not saying I agree with you peet. However nor do I believe everything coming from the authorities. I don’t believe the leaders of countries would ruin there own economies if there was no danger. Truth is I don’t believe any of them because they all have an agenda and all tell lies. However there seems to be lots of people with lots of contradicting facts all claiming to be experts and to be following the science.

And then we have Novak Djokovic who believes a whole host of things about his own supernatural abilities……🤮
