Glory is fleeing but infamy is forever.
I won't even say his name, he doesn't deserve what he was after.

You think the killer was an activated agent, a la The Manchurian Candidate?
Not necessarily, but I firmly believe there was a 2nd shooter based on the amount of bullet holes at the scene(I think there were some other things that were fishy, but I haven't read about John in a couple years so I'm hazy on that stuff.)
The US had an interest in putting the muzzle on him for good, I think.
But where do you stick a grassy knoll in a lobby?
Don't need one. But yes that is another case of the CIA taking care of business.

Thank you for your recent invitation to become a member of your team. I am sorry but I must decline, I have not enough free time to meet my commitments to the teams to which I already belong. Wishing you and your team good luck in all future matches and tournaments.

Fixing A Hole is a great song, one of my faves. The shooting was not in a lobby, but on the sidewalk outside The Dakota. Doubt the CIA had anything to do with it. 🙄
Ok,but why shoot him for that?
He wasn't shot, because he acted like a dick in a musical grudge match against an old collaborator. He was shot because some nut job had squirrels in his skull and read Catcher in the Rye too many times without realizing that the protagonist was just a spoilt ninny.
