If you are not an alcoholic it's not a problem. I know some muslims are forbidden to drink though. Calling them fanatics is too much I guess, saying someone is an alcoholic after a drink or two is somewhat crazy as well.
On the bus
If you are not an alkoholic it's not a problem. I know some muslims are forbiddenn to drink though.
agreed. on the other hand, if you decide to not drink, its one problem you don't have.
besides other religions have also forbidden alcohol. and yes I don't drink for religious reasons.
Before I found this site I would basically sleep through. Waste of time. Better to play some chess and have a chat.
I just want to say I'm not worried about the thread being locked. I'm respectful but if the thread is locked I'll make a new one, so what you know? So if you're wondering can I say this? Go for it!
Most religions are not forbidding wine or spirits, liquors or aperitifs of any kind, especially after or before an abundant meal. It is good for digesting purposes. Aperitifs and digestifs are drinks, typically alcoholic, that are normally served before (aperitif) or after (digestif) a meal. Everything in moderation and there's a perfect balance in this life if we can find it.
well, agreed.
the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints feels that god has asked them (and I am a member) not to drink alcoholic drinks. as I said earlier many people in my family have had problems with alcohol.
I won't argue with the idea of having it in moderation.
but I pose a question for you. out here, in rural America, buses are rare and so are taxi's.
yet there are Bars (which sell alcohol) open till 2am.
these places are sometimes far from any town. my question is , how many people that drank alot of alcohol- get in their cars and are dangerous drivers going back to their house.
what do you think of that. Americans sometimes are NOT responsible with alcohol (and I'm strictly referring to the driving when drunk, and NOT to the drinking till your drunk).
is this true in other countries, as well?
They are selling coffee and tea as well, rum punch that can free up your respiratory tract. Everything taken in moderation is good.
Some drugs are prescribed by your doctor, some are better never to be taken. Not even moderately. Nonetheless if it can safe your life who am I to judge.
ok, well as I said. I don't feel alcohol is Wrong or any more evil than any other drug- I feel that god has asked me as a member of my religion not to drink it.
I also , frankly, think bars in rural areas are a bad idea. drunk people do not drive well.
I've known people that have suffered from that as well.
bars should be in town, I think.
good talking to you.
I know you have.
I read your threads, though I rarely post. its usually Not a good idea to tell people how you feel (on the forums), and sometimes what you think.
Nevertheless it is an open forum, and as long as your not breaking rules you can say many things on "off topic".
I still think it would be neat if you described your bus ride a little further; perhaps on your next bus ride you can say roughly where your going and what people are doing around you.
I do not take bus rides; instead for me, it is (sometimes) incessant driving. Drive here and there- short trips but by the time my kids have gone here and there, and I've gotten grocery and bread. lots of wasted time.
It would be SO much better than just to calmly wait on a bus. I imagine it is a great time to play a few blitz games of chess.
anyways, you don't (or could) have to describe what city you live near.
