Ok I have had enough remonstrating with low rated patzers who don't know they are patzers so I am making a thread exclusively for those that are 1800 rated or above or those with a special dispensation from me the Pope of Chess.  I wouldn't mind if they acknowledged that like me they are patzers but they cannot. All they have is empty rhetoric and logical fallacies. Study Silman, study endgame's and you will progress.  All complete and utter nonsense.  You can read Silman for a thousand years and never gain a single rating point, learn the Philidor and Lucena positions and never evah evah use them in a single game, evah!  

I wouldn't mind if they acknowledged they were patzers like me but they don't, their arrogance and pomposity blinds them to the fact.  Always making excuses for their rating, 'I have lag', "my kid plays my blitz games when I am not looking", "a golden eagle stole my mouse and carried it away into his lair far in the hills just as I was about to deliver mate", "a mad scientist phased me with his mind ray hidden far in the hills and I lost concentration" etc etc  They are always experts elsewhere, always learning and yet never able to come to an accurate knowledge of truth about anything.

What is it about people that as soon as you challenge their perspective they become defensive? Do they think they are infallible? Not prone to aberration like the rest of humanity? Its indicative of nothing but a lack of objectivity.  A proclivity for false equivalence, ad hominem, strawman argument, non sequiturs, appeals to ignorance, appeals to authority and every other blatant logical fallacy that exists.  Its not that players who are rated 1800 or above do not also engage in these types of false reasoning, however its been my experience that its those in the 1500-1700 category who are the most opinionated and the worst offenders therefore I am banning them from my thread unless by special dispensation. If you are between 800 and 1400 you are allowed to post because you will have been humbled by your chess experience, 1401-1799 you are BANNED,  1800 and above is the rating floor for this thread for you.  Thank you for your understanding in this matter, your fan Robbie. . . . . and now a puzzle.  Solve it and you may post here, black to move.

I would say that the solution is a perpetual check and a draw, Na1+,Ka3, Nc2+,  Kb3 etc.

1...Nd4+!! can the knight not simply be taken? what happens if the king moves to the fourth rank?

Ok lets see why the knight cannot be taken after 1..Nd4!!

So if the knight cannot be taken and the king cannot run to the fourth rank that leaves only one other possibility after 1...Nd4!! and that is 2. Ka3.  Any takers after 2.Ka3

Actually I have a daily rating of 1840 whereas as you have one of 1480 so shad up a yo face. Admit that you are a patzer like me and I will let you post in my thread, otherwise, you gone.  Did I not say anyone between 1401 and 1799 cannot post here unless by special dispensation? bullet and blitz ratings don't count.

welcome my friend, perpetual was played out in the game, black had a forced mate beginning 1..Nd4+ (knight cannot be taken and king cannot come to the fourth rank) Ka3 (only move) 2.Nb5+ (black must find a check or he is toast) 2. Kb3 (only move) and now black must find another check (Rxc3 doesn't work because of bxc) only check left is Qc4+ and the white king is pushed back to the second rank and black must find another check.
