chess.com is pay2win. A user who has a diamond membership is going to improve much faster than a user without it. And you might say that they keep adding new features but oh wait, you need a membership to use them. for example, play coach. You can only play him 3 times without a membership but unlimited times with it.

Nope, I know somone who became 1500 elo with no membership

Avatar of Ian-the-destroyer

yes, but you can get to 1500 much quicker with a membership

You don't need a membership to get good, but it can help. And there's nothing wrong with selling improvement features for money

just analyze ur losses and adapt like maharaja to ur mistakes

it's hard when you only have 1 game review a day and I'm stupid so I can't trust my analysis

Tournament play? Take your time, don't blunder, and catch them when they blunder

It can be helpful, but not necessary to be good at the game.

its just an opinion okay

I respectfully disagree. While a membership CAN help you improve, it doesn’t give you an unfair advantage. A gun that deals way more dps locked behind a paywall? Yeah that’s p2w. But this is just a way to learn, you still have to learn.

Avatar of Ian-the-destroyer

yes but a membership helps you learn way faster

Memberships don't get you books or tutors. Anyone can get those. Memberships nearly help you improve with chess.coms tools. Also, they gotta put bread on the table somehow

I don't think it's pay to win. I could improve without a diamond membership if I set my mind to it. I have a lot of great books including one on Capablanca games that's out of print. The only reason I'm not improving is because life took over my life.
